1. Who we are
Bluestar N.V. is a Belgian family-owned leather production house founded in 1906. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data when you visit our website or contact us as a B2B partner.
2. Data we collect
We only collect data you actively provide through our contact and quote forms: name and company name; email address and phone number; project details, volumes and timelines; anonymous website usage data via cookies.
3. How we use your data
Your data is used solely to respond to your inquiry, prepare quotes, and manage our B2B relationship. We never sell or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.
4. Your rights (GDPR)
Under the General Data Protection Regulation, you have the right to access, rectify, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at sales@bluestar.be.
5. Legal basis for processing
We process your data on two GDPR legal bases: (a) your consent — for analytics cookies and optional communications; (b) our legitimate interest and pre-contractual necessity — for handling B2B quote requests and managing our commercial relationship.
6. Data retention
We retain inquiry data for as long as our commercial relationship is active, and up to 5 years afterwards for legal and accounting obligations. Analytics data is retained for 14 months at most.
7. Subprocessors we rely on
We rely on a small set of vetted providers: Lovable (website hosting), and Google Analytics (anonymised traffic statistics, EU-US Data Privacy Framework). We do not use ad networks, retargeting or profiling tools. A current subprocessor list is available on request.
8. International transfers
Where a subprocessor transfers data outside the EU (e.g. Google), the transfer is covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and, where applicable, EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
9. Data controller & complaints
The data controller is Bluestar N.V., Melle, Belgium. If you believe your rights are not respected, you can lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (Autorité de protection des données / Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit, Rue de la Presse 35, 1000 Brussels — autoriteprotectiondonnees.be).
